Massage and bodywork can help release chronic muscular tension and pain, increase circulation, increase joint flexibility, reduce mental and physical fatigue and reduce blood pressure. Massage and bodywork is also known to promote better sleep, improve concentration, reduce anxiety and create an overall sense of well – being.

Types of Massage & Bodywork

Swedish – the most common form of massage, Swedish mainly relaxes muscles, and eases aches and pains

Sports Massage – For the athlete, sports massage techniques are utilized at all stages:  pre-event, post-event, during training and to expedite rehabilitation after injury.

Myofascial Release – Myofascial is generally an extremely mild and gentle form of stretching the fascia that has a deep effect upon body tissues.  This approach consists of the gentle application of sustained pressure into the fascial restrictions.

Trigger point therapy – constant pressure applied to “knots” (trigger points) to help facilitate relaxation of the muscle.

Dynamic massage to improve Range of Motion and Release Scar tissue – long deep strokes applied while the muscle is taken through a lengthening contraction to release “inflexible areas of  muscle   or fascial adhesions (similar to ART technique).

IASTM- Instrument assisted soft tissue massage employs varies tools and edges to help scrape away fascial adhesions and muscle tension (similar to Graston Technique).

Half Hour Specialties

You Call It – Mini stress reliever focusing on areas where you feel the most tension, using a combination of deep tissue and Swedish techniques.

Reflexology – Half hour spent on hands and feet, using light touch and stretching

The Corporate – perfect for anyone who spends time on the computer. Focus is on neck, shoulders, arms and hands. (For those wanting back massage as well try The Works)

Hour Specialties

The Works – full body massage using Swedish techniques.  Reduces stress, improves circulation, and gives you a general sense of well – being.  Includes back, legs, gluts, feet, arms, hands, and neck.

Rejuvenator – one hour of deep tissue massage focusing on neck, shoulders, and back.

Custom – This massage combines all the relaxing benefits of Swedish massage plus specific healing techniques to help you get better faster. Massages may utilize Swedish massage combined with deep tissue, active release and other trigger point therapy techniques targeted towards your specific problem area. Your chiropractor and massage therapist will discuss your case prior to the massage and determine what combination would be best for you.

Weekend Warrior – this massage is geared towards the athletic individual. Whether you’re a professional or weekend warrior this massage incorporates trigger point therapy and active release with myofascial techniques to overstressed or overworked muscle tissue. The decreased soreness and increased flexibility will help you get back into your sport and perform at a higher level.
